Oil for 2016 Ford Ka MK2?

my friend has the above car and is finding it difficult to get a definitive answer of what oil type to use. Some say 5W30, some 5W40.

He had 5W30 put in recently but with the temperatures were having ATM in the UK which is very hot at around 26-30+ degrees his car is running a bit lumpy, so maybe the oil is thinning too much in the heat so should he be using 5W40. IF 5W40, would this type be fine to use?

Many thanks in advance.

Use only 5W-30 as instructed by Ford.

If you are unable to find an engine oil that meets the specification defined by WSS-M2C913-D or WSS-M2C948-B, it is acceptable to use a SAE 5W-30 engine oil that is defined by ACEA A5/B5.

why reply with the Ka+ oil when I noted in the thread title it was the Ka Mk2?

It could make someone use the wrong oil if it wasnt noticed
