Daviddlk
Hello Folks im new here. I recently purchased a 2017 ranger wildtrack 3.2. I was at the mechanic recently with a broken coil spring. When he was looking at the underbody of the jeep he notice a white residue leaking from injector no.5 he reckons it's addblue. just wondering if anyone else had this issue and is it a big problem. Foxxyblieu9
Adblue? I don’t think that should be spraying into the exhaust not the engine.
Daviddlk
its the 5th injector that is attached to the exhaust that is leaking

Either way, it's a bit odd to describe to an adblue injector with a number. Rangers aren't really my area, but swapping the injector should be an easy job if it's that at fault. Would have to double check it's not the pipe to it that's leaking though.
Daviddlk
It’s not an injector that goes into the engine it’s pats the add blue into the exhaust. It’s located at the bottom of the pipe that comes from the manifold

The confusion has come from the fact that this engine has 5 fuel injectors, so this one would have to be numbered as 6 if you wanted to give it a number. It's easy enough to change the injector, but you should check that it's not a fault with the pipe to it first.
iantt
White residue is normal and a new adblue injector will do the same . "With the introduction of Adblue systems onto vehicles many components are being replaced due to crystallized urea deposits on the external or mating surfaces. Testing of these components have shown that the components are perfectly serviceable and replacement is unnecessary. If urea has leaked from the Adblue dosing system, it will dry and leave crystallized deposits on surfaces, if a component has these deposits on external or mating surfaces it is not necessary to replace the component, urea crystals can be cleaned by washing with water and brushing with a soft brush."
