Ashly90
Hi everyone, recently bought a 2018 transit custom. Went to setup CarPlay with the sync 3. When plugged in it came up with the terms and conditions etc which were all accepted but CarPlay never launched and the sync 3 isn’t showing in my CarPlay setting on my iPhone. i also tried updating the sync which is currently 3.0 build 18025. There was an update available but it failed with error LST_ERR05. Anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance
unofix
That's a common error normally a problem with the way the files have been created on the USB. Have a look at this thread: On 4/8/2021 at 5:48 PM, colinmcg71 said: Hi Geoff, LST_ERR05 means ‘Package not found’ Can you have a look in your SyncMyRide folder. It should look like this - Could you also open up the autoinstall.lst file in notepad, it should look like this - If they both look correct you should be good to go. So I’ve been though the auto install file and all files in there match the ones in SyncMyRide, correct spelling, layout etc. is the CarPlay not working due to it needing this update? unofix
Very difficult for me to advise on CarPlay as it's not something I've used. The Moderator @alexp999 might be able to give you some pointers. Check list of things: USB stick = 32GB USB = Formatted in ExFat Files UnZipped on the USB stick = Autoinstall - DoNotIndex - and folder called SyncMyRide Inside the SyncMyRide folder there will be several files. Thanks again for the reply. I am using a 32gb sd card, formatted to exfat and have all the files and folders. I’ve read elsewhere it’s sometimes missing files in the SyncMyRide folder but they all seem to be there going by the Autoinstall file. The only thing I’ve had to do is create the SyncMyRide folder as it didn’t automatically create this, it was done as per the Ford instructions for the update
Ashly90
Update: now fixed an updated. The update did also fix the CarPlay issues. If anyone else is having LST_ERR05 this may help. I did the download via Mac and exported to the usb stick. All files were correct and in the right place but the update wouldn’t work. I tried today on windows and it worked absolutely fine. Strange but may be worth a go if anyone else is having the same issue
