Coolant issues after £2000 fix

Hi guys, hoping for some insight here.

When I start my car, doesnt matter if middle of the Summer or in the Winter it smokes like f..

My car drinks coolant as if its addictive to the stuff

At first by a certain garage I was told that there was a leak into the cambelt and it was coloured pink cos of the pink coolant it needs (is that even true?) It was "sealed" by some sort of sealant they say (who knows) and that it needed a head gasket replacement.

So I get my head gasket replaced, in doing so, I have my cam belt replaced and water pump replaced. Bear in mind here, this car had only done 70,000 miles so far in its lifetime... (But it is now 11yrs old so there is that)

It still does it. Drinking coolant. Still smokes upon start up like a lit bonfire.

I'm asking for is there any other areas where this could happen or is my engine cracked? (Cracked as in holes in the core)

I also saw this vid recently suggesting that they are designed to fail????

Thanks.

Edit: S... I havent checked my oil, last time it was empty and the reason I say this is because one of the cars I owned in the past drank oil, but somehow was still working fine after 2000 miles (I gather this maths on the basis that the previous owner got rid as it was gulping oil, I drove over 2k miles without checking my oil, filled it back up and less than 100 miles later it was all gone again without leaks underneath!, soon got rid of that car), of which I suppose rookie mistake but then the general public doesnt even check and 'rely' on MOT/Annual service tests. I learned my lesson over oil back then but it seems I forgot. So much for learning my lesson over oil. I'll need to check during the next daylight. I work till dark atm as its Winter now and there isnt much daylight, oil needs to be checked on level ground and I don't live on level ground.

(Also I'm not 100% clear on the best method to check oil/coolant levels... Engine warm or cold? - Upon Warm my coolant fizzes everywhere so I gather cold on that part, oil??? Yeah I'm a n00b.)

Sounds like you could have some big problems brewing there buddy. 😞

Always check your oil/coolant levels when the car is "cold" if possible and go from there... these cars had various coolant issues (cracked expansion tanks / split degas hose etc) and there were a number of recalls on these to replace those items but from what you have said it sounds like you need an expert diagnosis so you can pinpoint the problem and get it fixed.

Maybe try giving Eco Pro a ring,  he specialises in Ecoboost engines, at least might be able to give you an idea of what you're looking at.

Hi @Acid House 1988, I would guess that the OP is not finding it to be much of a problem (or the engine is now dead). He posted the above 28th Nov 2022 and has not been back to the forum since. 😧

Well, the car is still soldering along. Puffs out loads of smoke at idle. Clouds of fog huddles over the cars behind me in my rear view mirror. Its like a fog machine.

Thanks for your reply. I recently looked before making a long trip, I had to top up on more coolant and my oil levels were below the dipstick marks but I had a complete oil change a week before my head gasket repair.
I assume then this means I'm burning oil through the system too then? Above this is a link to YT showing the smoke from my engine exhaust.
I might give the Eco Pro guy a shout. Cheers.
