charging problems

Featured Replies

hi all, i have a 2004 ranger 2wd, recently had the clutch and pinion bearing changed. since having the bearing and clutch changed i have had charging issues with the vehicle. i know it isnt the battery, as it is brand new and i have had it tested. automatically i assumed alternator, however it also has a brand new lucas alternator. when i connect my multimeter to the pos and neg leads it only reads that 12.06 volts is making it to the battery on idle. when vehicle is revved to 3k rpm it reads exactly the same, 12.06 +/-, i have checked the regulator plug connector and it seems to be in good condition. what else could or should i check

Has the main engine earth strap between the chassis and the engine/gearbox been reconnected after the clutch was replace ?
