Hello Guys, thought I would start a fresh thread on the 4.5s.

The delays forum is getting a bit muddied and updates, reviews & tips may not help people still waiting on their cars.

Please feel free to share any aspect of your 4.5 ownership here.

Looking at the reactions I have got, I have not followed forum etiquette.

I will close / delete.

Apologies.

Hello.

sorry only just seen this thread.

im loving my Focus Vignale 155 7sp auto so far.

I’ve done 500+ miles and they’re done with ease.  I’ve noticed that this car feels more solid and better built than my 2 year old Focus I had before.

I'm still unsure on the auto parking lol, but the auto driving part I love.

one thing for me is the best, being able to warm and defrost the car from the app.  Oh god yes this is the future lol

how are you getting on.

All good thanks bro.

Really enjoying the car.

I fitted my sons car seat into the focus today, nice & simple.

The front passenger has loads of room, i was actually quite surprised about the ammount of space left.

The auto box is decent man, good gear selection.

I have the auto park on my XC90 & TBH I have never used it on that tank. Nice feature though.

Had my MK4.5 for 2 months now, done close to 800 km as of now.

Headlights are a game changer. I really cannot live with Matrix anymore, you see so much more and I feel so much safer driving at night.

Has anyone replaced the matts recently? I found it incredibly hard to take out the installed matts, almost broke a clip trying to get them out.

The Matrix LEDs are excellent.

I got the basic cheap none-clip matts in mine, however I have changed them for the Ford Performance ones.

Hi mate, as you know im still waiting for my car.  I have looked at the performance mats, I know they match the seats with the stripe but would you say they are better / higher quality compared to the standard ones?

They are deffinately better quality in my opinion & do look better.

However, the passenger side does not have the clip in bits.

I would reccomend them, add a bit of class to the cabin along with the b&o stickers.

I know a few people have been talking about speaker rattles & a noisy cabin etc.

I have tested a simple solution & it works really well & doesn't involve any DIY etc.

I ordered some custom cut acoustic foam to put in the door bins/well.

I don't really use the door wells/bins and got them cut so they actually fit into the rear of the well/bin and stop where the mouth of the well /bin is, you don't actually see them.

They are doing a great job.

Happy to DM the link & dimensions if any body needs em.

I don't have any rattles, but my passenger seatbelt tends to hit the pillar quite a lot when driving. I didn't have this problem in the 1.0l Focus.

Get some bluctac on it.

Mines not many rattles, bar the passenger side speaker distortion, which seems to have been remedied with the foam.

That doesn't sound particularly amazing, my mk3 achieves 40mpg minimum on a mix of roads where I am.

Is this what 4.5 generally achieves ?

This is the ST version. So it's a little bit more thirsty than the other models.

  • 2 months later...

Morning everyone, been a while since I checked in.

Just dropped my ST off to the dealership for warranty claim.

I have the following issues:

Speaker rattle passenger side

Car deviates at low speeds <40mph - i am fighting the steering wheel

Media unit shuts down spontaneously

All mk4's do the speaker rattle (particularly with the b&o), not sure much can be done. It's the weather strips vibrating against the glass. Ford know about it. On the non B&o system they did a software update to turn down certain bass frequencies, lol.

When I tap near the speaker I can hear something rattling, I will update on what they say, which I imagine will be FA.

Ok, that might be something else then.

I just get rattles from the weather strips from bass. Worse in the cold, much better in summer months.
