Hi everyone i took my mk 5 Escort Rs2000 out today as i havent run it for ages. I put about 4 litres of E5 petrol in it last week as it was on empty. I drove to the petrol station which is about 10 miles away and the car drove really well but when i got there they were sold out of E5 and the nearest garage to sell E5 was about 10 miles away. I didnt want to risk running out so i put about £20 worth of E10 in and after about 2 miles of driving the car started shaking and kangarooing so i kept the revs up which made it better and i had to stay in 3rd gear going through a 30 zone so when i got onto the open road i opened it up a little and the car drove really well in higher revs and pulled really really well to my surprise. Im going to go to another petrol station about 20 miles away tomorrow and fill the tank with E5. Im just worried it hasnt damaged my fuel system. Ive read that putting E10 in once or twice wont do it any harm but i still worry. I thought maybe the car just needed a good run but it run perfectly fine on the way to the garage before i put E10 in. Just wondered if anyone else has had similar problems or what people think? Thanks.

Stop worrying, no need, that amount will be fine, just get back to the good stuff ASAP!

Il fill it up with E5 tomorrow. I imagine it would need to be in the fuel system for a while to start doing damage. Thanks
