Mk3 flashing break light

Hello

When I turn the key the orange break light is flashing on the dash.

The original wires are cutted in the front arches. I’ve tried to close or open the loop but nothing changes.

Is that normaly an opened or closed circuit ? Am I missing something ?

Breaks are good, I don’t need the warning brake indicator.

thank you

Yes the ABS sensors.

Just as well you don't live in the UK or your car would fail it's MOT test.

So what are the wires for ?

It would be helpful if your profile was to say 'Escort' Mk3, my mistake but I was assuming Focus Mk3

Hi, i ve found the solution.

It’s not a standard 12V on/off system. It’s a dedicated low tension closed circuit. See the diagram, there is some electric resistances in the 3 pins female plug.

Cutting the wires like it has been done on my car will result in a electrical system failure, so the brake indicator will blink on the dash.

So if your braking pads are good, but without wires like mine, you can shunt the circuit this way :

So the 3 pins are connected. You just need a piece of wire and the original femal plugs, because electric resistances seems to be molded into the plastic.

Hope it will help somebody else. Bye

Or remove the bulb.  These had good old bulbs that can be removed as opposed to modern day led soldered to circuit board.

Yes it’s an option, i thouht about it too.  But when you turn the key on the escort mk3 all the bulbs light up for 2-3 seconds exactly to test them. If one is missing the MOT inspector should notice it… but nothing serious.
