Exhaust drone

Hi everyone,

I own a mk7 fiesta 1.4 and bought a hornet exhaust to make the car sound better. However, the car drones really bad at 1500 rpm and even worse past 3000 rpm. I heard resonators can reduce the drone but I don’t know which one to buy. Any help to  buy the correct one would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The correct one is the one you took off to fit the loud one. Unless you are an acoustics engineer specialising in exhausts and with a couple of supercomputers in your research lab, you will be wasting your time and even more of your money.

Changing the exhaust was a silly idea but I am 60 years old so I would say that wouldn’t I.

if you just bought the back box you cant do anything. but if you bought the full system like i did you can put the original resonated bit back on but the pipe will need cut and the reducer fitted...yes it will stop the drone in low gears and also when you do 2500rpm plus its not as loud
