Hi guys drive through a pot hole at speed which I didn't see in time and now every now and again there's a whistling/whining noise or like a old kettle noise coming from the wheel side which went through the pot hole any ideas as to what this could be as I have a holiday to go on in 10 Days

Thanks

I think I would jack it up, spin the wheel, take the wheel off and check the tyre and rim , discs and pads and shims etc.

bearing issues usually get louder with speed or turning in one direction.

A hassle to do but Safety is paramount.

Claims against the council can be made but not easily.

Ok great, it's not a constant noise just 2 or 3 times over a 20-30 minute drive but seem really loud when window is down it occurs when doing the speed limits so I could be goin 20 or 40 and it does it.

Thanks for your response

Managed to record the sound (need volume up) when I pressed the brake it stops then starts again when accelerating all from left side wheel of car, can you tell now?

That sounds like the bearing on the heater blower motor.

If you switch the fan completely off does it still make a noise ?

I think the shock of the impact has knocked the fan out of balance.

The fan wasn't on mate just makes that noise,  When I brake the sound stops then carries on when accelerating  but it's not constant it can happen for 2mins then not again for another 20

Well that is incredibly irritating.  I think it's a loose brake pad that's 'just' touching the disc while driving.  When you brake it gets 'reset' away from the disc again.
