Car Error Message

Ford Question

I'm wondering if anyone can help me.

When my car is in neutral or in gear sat in traffic the following happens:

The error beeping noise starts, the dashboard engine warning light comes on and shows error "hill holder system unavailable" and "auto start/stop system unavailable".The car then goes into limp mode.

When I turn the car on and off the car will drive fine but will still show these error messages. Sometimes the messages can go away after driving the car however this is has happened a few times now.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

The battery.

I have replaced the battery today but after driving it for around 15 minutes the issue is still happening when parked up my drive in neutral. Would it take time for the error to fix itself? Or is there something else I should be doing?

Did you fully charge the new battery (12 hours) before fitting it ?

After fitting the new battery have you reset the battery Monitor System (BMS) assuming that you car has the system installed ?

If the problems continue, you need to use FORScan and read what the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that will be stored.

As mentioned by @unofix, this may cure the issue...
