Latest Maps?

I thought that this might be the first update for the F12 maps system, ie. doing the map voice update first and then the maps files in the download after.

(Although I have noticed that the voice files in the Ford download are version H, but the latest leaked F12 map voice files are version K)

Suppose we will have to sit and wait for Ford to get their @rse in gear.

Not yet at least. From what I've read elsewhere, people that have edited the files to make it install, it just says you are up to date. So still no map file being offered.

Thank you again for your response.

I guess I will follow your prompt to not bother any more with this voice update and wait for ford to launch another one with maps and without errors, fingers crossed.

Supposed I would like to install it, what should I edit to make it work? What did "people that have edited the files to make it install" do? Any link?

I am not sure for definite, but I think you need to add the licence file to the install list ( 1U5T-14G424-DM )/

@alexp999 which forums did you see the information on to edit the install on, please?

No that's not the issue.

People have got it to install by splitting the install so that each file is installed individually instead of all in one. So 4 installs, one for each voice file.

I've seen it on a few different german and polish forums.

I think that in this case the code mem_err01 has something to do with the format of this specific update and not with the Sync 3 actual available space.

It is almost impossible that so many users simultaneously have limited space on their system. It is not that you have access to this storage to fill it with other data... Unless a previous map update had indeed exhausted the system available space. THIS WOULD BE AN EPIC FAIL FROM FORD. In this case, (and I am only guessing, I don't know how ford has arranged its updates) another approach should be followed: not install all new, then remove all old, rather than install a new piece, remove an old piece to conserve space.

To conclude, I would say that it is a ford-side update issue and hope it will be resolved in the next update.

Any fix for this yet? Didn't work for me...mem_err01 error.

Read somewhere on here that new maps are due on 14th of August but I don't know how reliable that is?

Ah !!!

Ford are busy working with the A-Z publishers and will be sending out new books just as soon as they are printed.

I remember the days when if your Road Atlas was less than 5 years old, you'd consider it 'up to date' 🤣

Lol, my 2019 edition just counts, then! I do smile at all these threads about map updates - it's not as if many wholly new roads get built these days, many of them still owe their origins to the Romans.

But there are many new roads and housing estates being built all over the place!

Even when Ford do release map updates they are always from 12 months earlier.

If you want up to date maps then use CarPlay or android auto.

To me Waze has a very childish looking display, there is no doubt if you want the latest map then it's Google or I guess Apple

I'll give Google a try - I don't speak Apple....

Waze does have a relatively simple interface. It is usually very up-to-date with respect to road hazards given the large user base and will actively divert you to save even a few seconds. This can be a disadvantage as you may be directed through all sorts of side streets and back roads just to arrive a few seconds sooner. I prefer to use Google Maps with the satellite overlay which looks really good on the Sync3 screen. It is not so aggressive as Waze at re-directing you and will float small signs on alternative routes saying things such as "Similar ETA" or "+ 10 minutes" and the like. If it detects a significantly better diversion it will put a suggestion on the screen asking if you want to re-route. We save 2 hours when we were diverted seconds before getting onto a static M25.

I assume you connect by USB cable to use this? Not tried it, must give it a go.
