Hi just had a service an mot and was asked if this oil had been changed on last service said not sure so they suggested I have it done I have only done 37k so was reluctant is there a way of checking ? And why so expensive. Appreciate feedback and I am aware of the risks of not getting it done.

Regards KD

From memory, it's due every 4 years and service every 2 years. And if it's done in line with services thats every 36k miles but can't remember if it goes like that with mileage so somebody else might be able to comment...

I've had my auto serviced...

2yrs (2018) = service
4yrs (2020) = service + Gearbox oil
6yrs (2022) = Service
8yrs (Due 2024) = Service + gearbox oil

(I've never bothered with the 1 year interim check in between)

If you get the interim check done, they give you another 12 months of Ford Assist (breakdown cover), so it can be worth it! You get 12 months Ford Assist after each service too, so it fills the gaps and keeps your breakdown cover up!

Just a cautionary note on that - not all Ford dealers (including some of the big groups) participate in the scheme so it's best to check when booking.

I asked about mine when it went for its last service in February.

Was told mine is a sealed unit so no need?

I have a 19 plate st line with the 8 speed auto.
