Tyre Issue & options

New here...with my car anyway.

I've a 2016 SMax Titanium 2.0 180 Tdci

Got 4 x Nokian Weatherproof All Seasons on it. 

Looking like they are shot, with bits of rubber peeling off fronts (inside & outside edges) & the edge of tread / wall cracking on rears.

Disappointing particularly after only 14k on one pair (fronts).

Looking at replacements I'm considering Hanook Kinergys off Blackcircles. 

Does anyone have any good experience (or know of good deals) of these or any other All Seasons?

I am surprised at the Nokians failing on you, they are supposed to be a decent tyre. They were one of the choices of tyre I wondered about buying. If you want more All-season tyres, they a lot of people will probably recommend Michelin Cross-Climates. They are very good tyres, but expensive. I have a pair on my Fiesta along with a pair of Goodyear 4Seasons which were slightly cheaper.

For my understanding the Cross-Climates (I've got) are a summer baised tyre, that can be used in winter, and the Nokians are a Winter tyre that can be used in summer (Nokian are a winter tyre specialist). The Goodyears were in between them. However Michelin have improved the snow/winter performance of the newer Cross-climates.

As for Hankook, I have no experience of them. Look up tyre tests for their All-season tyres. If it's summer tyres you're buying then the Vectus S1Evo3 won the 2021 Auto-Express summer tyre test. Link Here

I really like my Cross-Climates. They are comfortable, relatively quiet and last a long time (well miles, but you know what I mean). So in £ per mile, they may not be much more expensive than other tyres. 

I have never used Goodyear all seasons so I can't comment on the Goodyears.

Thanks folks. I'm only seeing these replies now, after last night plonking for Bridgestone Weather Control A005s via Costco. 

Spoke to Nokian re a warranty claim, but the literature I was sent had a ridiculous quantity of exclusions & conditions. 

I'll not spend good money on them again. Shame as a very grippy tyre in all conditions.  

P.s had X climates on a Mazda 5 before & wrote 2 off on the sane pothole 😬

If you are changing all 4 tyres probably advisable that you have the full wheel geometry alignment done as the s.max and galaxy are prone to inner tyre wear because of suspension bushes, just had it done on my galaxy

I’ve done 20k miles on mine, crossclimate 2 (2 and a half years) with 2 rotations, tyres are down to 5mm from 7mm new. Pretty good going.

Yeah cross climates are pretty good tyres even if a bit expensive, had them on my vauxhall corsa and had done over 30,000 miles on them when I sold it

I have had Bridgestone summer tyres crack after a few years, I hope their All-season are made of better stuff!  In saying that, the A005s have done very well in tyre tests and won the Tyre-reviews test last year. I'd be interested, after a year or so what you think of them.

I think, "X" is a great brand

(X = Goodyear, Kumho, Pirelli, Toyo, Hankook, Uniroyal, Marshall, Bridgestone, Nexen etc)

Used them for ages, last time they lasted me "Y" miles

(Y= 10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000)

Although, also wise to select a rain rating of A or B or C (depending if where you live gets alot of rain)
