noste500
Anybody recommend somewhere in northwest for the wet belt change and prices paid? ( mine hasn't gone , but thinking forward planning ) Cheers
TomsFocus
If the wetbelt 'goes' then the engine is generally scrap. It's something to have replaced as a precaution before it fails.

Everyone looking for belt replacement quotes will have a belt that hasn't gone yet lol, otherwise they'd be looking for engine replacement instead.

RayC333
Ford reportedly use Dayco. I fitted one and was unimpressed how it was lasting after running a very low milage. For my second belt change I've used a completely different brand, BGA automotive.

MCF
How the cost of having a timing belt changed has risen. Only time I ever had to have one done was on a 7 year old mk2 Fiesta 1.4S - £60 supplied and fitted and back same afternoon. Those were the days.

To be fair, for the 1.0 EB it’s not just general inflation. It’s basically an engine out job and requires some VERY expensive specialist tools.
MCF
Maybe when a vehicle is sold there should be a legal obligation to give customers a breakdown of the expected cost of ownership over however many years.
Steveostit14
When bought my ecoboost in 2017 from ford dealer I was really impressed with the engine , loved the car ! But since all the ecoboom info has come out and all the paranoia of staring at oil light I decided to move the vehicle on and buy a skoda with a dry belt , real shame because the fiesta was a joy to drive and so easy to park . But I feel it had to go.!
