The usual recommendations for upgrading the lamps is to use the LED versions provided by Auto Beam

I've personally not used them, as I've kept my halogen headlights unmodified (and lawful). There are quite a number here on the forum that have and do use the LED lamps from AutoBeam and say they are probably the best and that they seem to last much longer than many others.

If and when the UK motor vehicle lighting regulations get updated to allow the use of retrospectively fitted LED lamps in place of the factory halogens then I'm quite sure I'll be quick to change mine.
