Hi, can anyone help?

My T reg fiesta has an issue with the internal heater, the story goes like this, i bought the car recently and on my first 125 mile round trip to work it over heated, then was ok for a while but it kept happening more often, also the internal heater was doing it's own thing, sometimes cold sometimes hot.

I started simple and replaced the thermostat, this only seemed to make matters worse as now it was over heating when only 5 miles from home, i would pull over turn the engine off for 5 mins then all would be ok for the remainder of the journey.

I then noticed on a few forums people would reccommend replacing the heater control unit, the bit at the back of the engine bay directly behind the internal heater, with 4 pipes and electrics on top. replaced this easily and all was well, done 2000 miles trouble free from over heating, but the heater inside the car is still very abnormal and doing it's own thing, typically on a warm day it takes the micky by running red hot even if on cold setting.

what else can i try????

thanks

Hi

As you have already written your problem lies with the heater control valve in the bulkhead.

I have already helped someone else today with the same problem on this very forum.

A member of this forum who works for a parts supplier will reply in a minute :)
