i keep smelling fumes in the cab when sat in traffic

Featured Replies

i seem to have lost power slightly, fuel consumption seems to have increased and i keep smelling exhaust fumes in the cab when sitting in traffic.

any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a hole in the exhaust / flexi pipe. Go get it checked, breathing in exhaust fumes is nasty.

I would suspect that it is trying to do a 'Regen' and is not getting hot enough for long enough.

The soot in the DPF creates backpressure against the turbo which will ultimately force the gas out of the next weakest join.  That's generally the turbo V-band clamp.  If you can get it complete a regen, hopefully the cabin fumes will stop.
