Ranger wildtrak 2017 not starting in cold

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2017 Ford Ranger wildtrak 3.2 auto, in the cold it will not start, it tries to turn over 3/4/5 times until the battery is completely dead. If it does start on the odd occasion where it’s bordering being too cold to start (frosty) it will start up and be very rattly and maybe sound abit knocky on the engine until warm. Why could this be as I’ve had the battery tested before and was told it was in good working order. I also have a noco jump pack that does 4l diesel and this still won’t help start it in the cold. Any help would be ideal, thankyou

Assuming that this a diesel, have you tested the operation of the Glow Plugs ?
