Auxiliary coolant pump warning light

Featured Replies

Hi,  currently On holiday (abroad) and my ranger just flashed up the engine check light (amber) and app message says it’s a concern with auxiliary electric coolant pump.  Due to drive home tomorrow, anyone know if it’s okay to drive this far on it (1000 miles) or should I call Ford assist.  Ranger is a 2020 biturbo wildtrack…

thanks

The auxillary coolant pump supply coolant to the adblue injector. So if that's all the problem it won't interfere with the cooling of the engine etc. so safe to drive as such. The problem you may have though is if the pcm detects an issue with the adblue system , the pcm can go into a count down mode in miles until the engine won't restart. Not sure on miles but think it's around 300miles. May be more.

You should be warned in your cluster of this countdown. Is there somewhere in the cluster menu for " messages ," or " maintenance"

Obviously check under the bonnet for coolant loss .
