Hey I am struggling with the Crank pulley bolt on my 16V zetec - looking at an electric impact wrench. I have seen this for £35..

Says 350Nm and the specs in the heynes manual says 115 so this should be ok, assuming the last garage didn't overdo the bolt!!!

Any help appreciated..

115Nm isnt really alot, consider the wheel bolts should be done to around 90Nm. im always a bit sceptical about these sort of tools, do they really live up to what they say?

i would rather invest in a good breaker bar than the impact wrench, but i must admit although i use air tools, it would be great to hear some feedback from someone who has tried one of these electric guns.

Yeah I am also a bit sceptical. I bought a 1/2" breaker today and hoping that I can get the right angle and enough torque as I am on axle stands.

While replying I just had a scout and found this - I think the same innards just different brand name. Very disappointed with the article it really doesn't give you any idea what it is capable of, maybe intentionally!

maybe you should get off the axle stands and put the car on them  sorry i couldnt resist a little cheeky comment.

my biggest worry is, if these guns are so good and as useful as they say i think they would be priced at somewhere around £100? i just dont think highly of them, but i would love to be proved wrong.

i dare say if you did order it and you and it didnt meet your expectation you could always send it back
