Ford Ranger DPF

Featured Replies

Hi all, i have been asked to look at my friends ford ranger. It's a 2.2 2013 model, he's had it remapped and the dpf deleted, he rempved the dpf himself and took the inards out, which IMO he should have left it alone, anyhow it's now throwing a yellow cog light with exclamation mark, i plugged my autel in and it showed p2002 particulate filter below threshold. A quick look at the live data shows that exhaust gas differential 1 is reading back pressure but differential pressure 2 is stuck on zero, should the value for 1 have been mapped out? As im pretty sure this is whats throwing the code, appreciate your help

Yes, it's being caused by a bad remap.

Im thinking the same as there isnt much that can go wrong from his side of things (removing the internals of the dpf), it's been back to the guy twice since and still the same every time

They're probably just flashing the same generic map on each time.  Most people claiming to do remaps can't actually code maps themselves.

He could try unplugging the pressure sensor to see what happens then.  It'll trigger a fault code but may not trigger the warning light as well.
