Rear light fault 2010 ranger

Featured Replies

Hi troops , newbie here and wondered if yous can help. Last week rear lights packed in and dash lights went dim and bright when brake was pressed. Seemed to fox itself until today. Had no back lights. Now have all rear lights apart from brakes and fog lights and the interior compass has went blank. Changed fuses , checked earths that I can find. Did notice that the relay for the tow bar electrics smells burnt out and it’s like water has gotten in. Wondered if this can be a cause or has anyone got any ideas. Thanks

The relay or towbar wiring/socket is almost certainly the problem.

Thanks. Do you know if there is a way to disconnect the tow bar wiring to rule that out ?

Sorry, I can't help you with that.

I can only speak from years of experience with towbar wiring causing lighting faults
