Gear Knob Query

I was just wondering [i'm new here so apologies if this is a repeated question] if the gear stick on a Ford KA can be changed? If so, can I replace it with a new universal one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what year is the KA?

on the older ones it simply unscrews and a new one can be screwed on, when initially unscrewing it can be stiff. not sure on the newer models though
