Will not start please help

Featured Replies

So we have a 2022 Ford Ranger 2.0 auto wildtrak.

Last Thursday the mrs took the car to lakeside and all was good, on return to the car she started it as normal and went to pull away but the car had no power, 50 yards later the car cut out complely.

The dash board was showing the message full power accessory active plus a yellow spanner and red battery light. <image attached>

I turned up 30 minutes later and the car would not start at all using the key the mrs had although it was turning over with plenty of power. I then tried the spare key and the truck started only to cut out again just 10 seconds later.

Since then we have been unable to start the car and had to have it recovered.

A friend of mine had the same problem some time ago and believes it was because someone tried to steal it and was in the middle of programming new keys! not sure how true this is.

If anyone has any ideas or had similar problem please do share.

Thanks

Alex

I don't understand the message other than accessory power having perhaps having some effect on the battery although you assert it still turns over normally (needs someone with experience of that message or theft preparation?)

I'd start with getting some fault codes and not being a OPW (sorry, don't ask)

"Full Accessory Power Active" is only a caution to tell you that the full ignition circuit is on and drawing power while the engine is not running. If left long enough the car will turn the ignition off to save power.

The yellow spanner is indicating that there are DTC's that need to be read using FORScan which will most probably explain why the car won't start.

So after having the battery replaced, then a new fuel filter the problem wasn’t solved. Got a ford expert over with the right computer and it’s apparent that the car has an issue with the low pressure fuel pump ️ anyone had the same problem
