Hi all

Went to open my car late one night away from home and got nothing.

Took me a while to open the stupid thing by putting it in the actual lock.

My other key works fine so is this just a battery thing ?

Ford want to take it in and have a good look but im worried they will try and charge me for vastly over the odds for labour

Thanks for the advice.

Could be the battery, your need one of these My link

Not 100% sure on this but i'm sure that the center console information screen tells you when your remote battery is running low on power.

Thanks for the link,

what comforts me is that the other key works perfectly so I know that the system itself is running fine.

Im wondering how hard is it to split the key open the change the batteries ?

It appears that only Fiesta's that are keyless entry will get the message on there centre console that the battery is running low.

Splitting key is easy, you just need a small flat bladed screw driver.

Yes, just press down to release the little clip inside and then a twist of the screwdriver blade usually separates the two halves.
