2016 2.2 XLT Vibration Noise from under airbox at 1.5k

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Got a new (to me) 2016 XLT (unsure of the actual model, as some things are different than a 'normal' XLT), However, since I got it back from having the injectors checked, and there's this weird vibration noise coming from the drivers-side.

It is an obnoxious, low buzzing that only really gets loud around 1.5-2k revs, and it's annoying as all hells...

Took it to my mech, and we've both had a go at finding it, but it sounds like its coming from somewhere underneath the airbox or intake, and it's puzzling us both... not a clue. Sounds like some kind of sympathetic resonance from something big and hollow, marching engine vibration. I'm wondering if it's something like the intake pipe/fixture rarrling against the outside panel of the bonnet, but everything seems snug as a bug, and I'm just left scratching my head.

Sound stupid, but I'm really struggling with certain frequencies in my right ear at the moment, and it's killing me.

I can't attach a video here as it only let's me upload anything 2mb or less

Any ideas??

Ta

John
