Hi I'm looking to change my mirrors to open/close when locking/unlocking on the fob using forscan! Can anybody help with instructions/steps/codes to do this please? Have already dipped my toe in the basics of forscan diagnostics etc so can follow instructions! Any help with this would be greatly appreciated many thanks👍

As far as I know, this is not an option on the Ranger.

I've actually looked in to this myself and didn't find any answers. It would be nice to be able to do it on my Stormtrack as the DOOR mirrors do stick out quite some distance and I don't always remember to fold them in.

Hi unofix, I'm sure you can (not positive)! I ***** hope so as that was one of the reasons I bought the lead and forscan in first place! If I find out or have any success I will let you know mate. I was under the impression that if we had power mirrors installed we could do it! What year is yours?

Auto folding mirrors often requires different modules. My daughter has a 2010 Kuga with power fold mirrors , but just like the Ranger it can't be made to autofold when locking the doors.

My Ranger Stormtrak is a 2022 model, with power fold mirrors, just not auto folding 🙁

Yeh, I think your right, think we need to wire in a module between switch and fuse box, about 70 quid! Problem is all the videos are American, don't seem to be as straight forward in UK! Oh well will have to decide if it's worth it for 70 quid at the moment! If you discover anything let me know👍

I've spent £55 and ordered a full kit from AliExpress ( I know 🤔) It will arrive in about 2 to 3 weeks.

Claims to automatically open and close the door mirrors with the unlocking/locking, AND, will make all 4 windows one touch open/close, AND, allow the global open/close of all windows using the keyfob, AND makes you coffee 🤣 - I made that last one up !

🤣 you had me at the coffee then! Always dubious about ordering from them sort of places! Ordered a kindle for the wife once, eventually I got a beaded bracelet worth about 50p instead!

Many years ago I owned a 1995 Mitsubishi FTO.  It had folding mirrors activated by an internal door button. An FTO club member sold a home made 'gizmo' that when connected correctly, it allowed the mirrors to open/close in sync with the central locking. I bought one and it worked exactly as described. I'm sure that it would be possible to make a device that would recognise the locking signal and close the mirrors at the same time. Let's know how you get on...

Will do thanks👍 I think unofix is right though, I think I have to wire in a module, but then you wonder why I need to change settings with forscan though????? The more you delve in the more confusing it gets for some reason!

I ordered a kit from AliExpess about 2 weeks ago (27th April) that claimed it would make all 4 windows one touch open and close, and make the DOOR mirrors auto fold when locking/unlocking. So I took the gamble and bought the kit for £54.72 including shipping.

It arrived two days ago and today I spent a little over two hours fitting it.

Guess what ? 🤔

It works, and does exactly what it claimed. Everything just plugged together and worked first time 🎉🎉

I basically want to swap the silver ones for black ones but don't want to start dropping the roof liner! Trying to find out this info is proving to be harder than tracing lord Lucan!

You don't need to fully remove the roof liner, but you will have to lower it to allow access to the fixings.

My Ranger has a light bar which is fitted between the roof rails. The cable for the light bar then goes through a hole drilled in the side of the rail and then through a hole in the roof which is under the foot of the rail. For this work to be done the roof liner had to be lowered quite far down on the passenger side.

🙄 my wife bought me the black rails for my birthday (bless her) after the company said that the roof liner wouldn't need dropping! Oh well that's Saturday's project! Thanks for the info much appreciated

I'd drop them a line for guidance if they stated the roof lining didn't need touched. Maybe they've discovered a new method 😁

Think I will just have a crack at it! Just a bit heavy handed, didn't want to balls it up and snap something! Oh well!

I didn't fit the light bar on mine it was done by a specialist company. Perhaps they only took the head lining down to be able to drill the hole in the roof ?
