Adblue forced shutdown won’t reset

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I’m hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction or any direction. My 2021 Ford ranger has been low on adblue, I was going to fill it up but then with never driving it and then going to work away for a couple of weeks I completely forgot. My wife drives it and hasn’t got a clue about adblue. Anyway it’s been run dry and gone into forced shutdown. I’ve filled it up with adblue, had it plugged into Ford software to reset the forced shutdown but nothing. It’s not letting us reset the forced shutdown. The guy that had it plugged into Ford software is a wiz with this stuff and maps out cars and does all the diagnostics etc. He said he’s never had this where it won’t reset. He’s thinking the ecu/forced shutdown can only be reset once and it might have been done before (I’ve only had it a few months). Anyone know if this is the case? It’s full to the brim with adblue but still registering as nothing in and also saying there’s 0 miles fuel when there’s more in. Any advice would be appreciated. Losing the will to live on this one

AdBlue crystallises as it drys/evaporates, where you've let the tank run low for an extended period of time it's probably crystalised and the sensor is stuck at the bottom of the tank.

Weird one, stand on your passenger's side step, holding onto the roof rails, shake the sh*t out of the truck and it might dislodge the sensor.
