Ranger PX2 no audio mystery

Featured Replies

My used ranger had a faulty display when I bought it. It would cycle through the ford logo on and off repeatedly. After some investigation I decided it was a faulty APIM module. I bough a replacement from a breakers and installed it myself. This seemed to have solved the problem. The display was functioning as normal, the only issue was no sound. The display would indicate something is playing if a cd is in or if connected to Bluetooth but no sound. More research and decided the replacement apim needed to be programmed with my vin and this would solve the sound issue. Took it to ford and they did the programming and update etc. still no sound. Any ideas what the issue might be? One other thing, when I turn the vehicle off there is a strange mechanical sound that repeats coming from behind the center display console. Not sure if this is a clue or not. Some one mentioned it could just be lose wiring, a faulty amp, or a shorting speaker some where. Where should I start to look? Has anyone else had this issue? I’ve done all of the master reset stuff, software updates etc
