Throttle Body Error: P02E9: Ranger 2016

Featured Replies

Hey all, I am new to the forum and this is my first post, apologies if there is something wrong.

Model: 2016 Ford Endeavour/Ranger 4 by 4 AT (India)

Error: P02e9: DIAFPS circuit high.

Background: The error started of as a CEL in the dash. FNG said its the MAF after a 10min diagnosis, and replaced the MAF. No changes whatsoever. A better diagnosis at a different FNG revealed that the throttle body is damaged. As of now, the throttle body plate does not move at all, and reading in the live data via a scan tool show the throttle body aka the throttle position sensor is at 0 percent and this does not move whatsoever. Vehicle is driving fine even with the error, but no EGR system operation as seen in the live data. The wiring to the throttle body is good as confirmed by the FNG, but the throttle body is faulty. Upon inspection on opening of the throttle body, there were only 2 potentiometric fins/lines which give feedback to the ECU regarding the position, FNG said to repair it, by adding 2 more lines( as per some manual) and added 2 more lines, so now a total of 4 lines/fins/contacts are there, but still no changes. The job done was not so great, but the query is does the Ranger throttle body come with 4 potentiometric contacts or only 2 as it was seen upon opening.

Part number: BK2Q9E926AC, and the Bosch Part Number is 0280750597/598. A picture of the internals of the throttle body are shared in this post. The 2 lines which were then added which are not OEM, should there be 2 contacts in the place of the added lines or it is to be left emty?

Query: If someone could confirm the number of contacts in the throttle body of the above mentioned part number via a spec sheet or Engineering Diagram, would be very helpful. The FNGs (Friendly Neighborhood Garage) have done a lot of guessing at my expense and would like to get to the root cause of the problem before arriving at a conclusion.

Thanks in advance.

Happy Motoring!
