Ford ranger 2014 2.2 automatic tcm communication issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone I have recently bought a Ford ranger 2014 2.2 6 speed automatic and have had a traction control light and a cog with an exclamation mark come on and sometimes the amber engine light. The car has a slight rough rumble whilst sitting inside the cab and when I open the bonnet it has a crunch rough rumble sound which sounds like it’s coming from something internal on engine maybe ? I’ve had a mechanic look at it and he was confident that it was the clutch pack but if that’s the case why would it drive well sometimes still with this sound but as the car warms up the sound comes more often and the car looses power doesn’t change gear well doesn’t pull off and sometimes goes in to limp mode. Can anyone help me with this or is anyone family with this problem ?

Then the best thing to do is use FORScan and read the DTC's to see what the issue is, it removes a lot of the pure guess work.

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.
