Where do I pick up the signals for my electronic module to control the lights

I have noticed that there is a plug/socket connector above the rear fuse box with some wires not connected to any thing, am I in the right area?

If there is any towbar wiring present, and what towbar wiring is present fully depends on whether the vehicle was ordered new with towbar preparation or not.

Somewhere around 15 Years ago Ford stopped fitting the towbar wiring as standard. From that time, the wiring was only fitted if the vehicle was ordered with a factory fitted towbar or the optional towbar preparation.

In this case you should start checking the factory build sheet to see whether the car has towbar preparation or not. Any Ford dealership can check this. If the car does not have towbar preparation, an additional wiring harness is required that complements the vehicle specific towbar wiring/module kit.


It is also important to know that retrofitting a towbar is not allowed on some C-Max versions. Specifically, the manual transmission 1.0 EcoBoost and the automatic transmission 1.5 EcoBoost manufactured between specific production dates due to missing cooling system hardware.
