eco-paul
Hi, Happy owner of an econetic fiesta here. I brough mine nearly new, and it the original owner had been busy ticking the options boxes, it has front and rear parking sensors, bluetooth, usb curatain airbags, heated screen and centre armrest. It has everything I want, except cruise control. I have had it retro fitted to my old VW and it was just a case of a new indicator stalk and some programming, I know the fiesta will require a new steering wheel, but hopefully re-use the airbag. Does anyone know if its possible using ford parts, and if so how much? Or is it possible with some sort of aftermarket kit?

iNath
is economy gonna be better? james_60
If this works i can buy my s1600 134 and fit cruise control myself. In my opinion it should be an option for the zetec s and s1600 Jamie
iNath
Just to let everyone know - had the Titanium controls & silver surround installed today. When the mechanic lugged his laptop in there was an option for almost everything except cruise control. Not quite sure whether a new BCM or ECU is required or just reflash the software. Writing to Ford Technical to see what they can advise.
mark t
Fingers crossed, I'm not doing the distance these days, due to the fuel cost, but when I do, I love the cruise control. Constantly driving at the same speed will do your MPG a lot of good!
Strutter
Glad I jsut got a Titanium with the larger engine now lol.
bneeco
the ecu's for 1.6's are all the same, i went to ford dealers and asked what would be needed their reply was "new ecu" asked how much and they said mines the same one as titanium with cruise control then they looked baffled and then said dont know and pretty much tried being unhelpful saying i should of bought it when i got the car in which i replied i bought it 2 months old to save money, ford technical are just unhelpful ****'s, if they dont "recomend" it they wont tell you if its possible and whats needed to be changed or done
iNath
then said dont know and pretty much tried being unhelpful saying i should of bought it when i got the ca They don't have the option of adding cruise control to a Zetec-S otherwise I would have had it! I've sent a letter for Ford Technical in Walsall, will see what they've got to say.

thornewell
Be great to see if anyone can eventually crack the cruise control. I would love to have it myself. Just did a search for the Haynes manual for the MK7 and it's now available. Whether this will answer any questions for everyone scrathcing their heads over the retro fit? http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=52951&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=14510
bneeco
i believe inath has done it but he will not spill the information on what file to edit and what part in the file to correct :(
Lenny
bneeco you are very brave discussing such matters on this forum regarding the STAFF their is a guy from Russia on the forum who has created a very user friendly software programme that can be downloaded and used for FREE that’s a whopping £50-£90 cheaper that other sources mentioned in previous posts, http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/31287-guide-for-focus-mk2mk25-c-maxkuga-elm-327-cable-and-ff2-program/page__fromsearch__1 However im not sure if the software created is specific to the focus or if the person that created it has plans to create a programme for the fiesta too, Here is a link to the creators profile on the forum: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/user/31617-civil-zz/ if he does create a programme for the fiesta then all you would need to purchase is an ELM327 diagnostic tool and a cruise control steering wheel. and if you want continues free information and free guides, buy a focus ;) we help each other for free all the time and dont blow our own trumpets about it neither :D and on an off topic note: what sort of forum makes a member of the site in to a member of staff. when they taunt others with the modification they claim to have gotten to operate correctly and wont help others with the knowledge that they have found.?? doesnt make sence to me if im honest, and sorry to take thing off topic but i feel it has to be said.
