Looking at a 72 plate Kuga

Featured Replies

Hi there, as the title suggests I'm looking at a 72 plate Ford Kuga.

Just wanted to see if this is a good option to go for. It's a 2.5 duratec plug in hybrid automatic with just over 62k on the clock.

I'm looking to move on from my Ford Focus Active 1.5 Eco blue. While I love the Focus, I'm getting fed up with the DPF as I'm doing less longer journeys than I thought I would with work. My commute is just 3 miles, so eventually I will kill the car.

So, after driving nothing but diesels for the last 22 years, I'm moving over to petrol.

Is this age of Kuga good? I had a MK1 and loved the thing, but it was obviously a bit more basic.

Is the autobox on these good? I can't go back to a manual after getting used to my Focus being an auto.

Is the engine good? I have a feeling most of my commutes will actually be under battery power since it's so short and this is stated as a range of 39 miles.

Any info or input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance folks.

No. The Kuga PHEV is horribly unreliable.

There's just loads and loads of better PHEVs out there.
