mishax16
hi there, i am having quite a problem here, i have a mk1 ford mondeo 1996 petrol engine, it has central locking, i have to key sets with two door unlocking fobs which work with infra red waves. So, in the summer one of the fobs just stopped working, i dont realy know why, and i never bothered with the cause, i just switched the battery and because it still did not work i carried on to use the second fob. Now one day i dropped my keys on the ground and now the other set does not work too, the red light indicator on the fob signals, but nor the doors nor the alarm can be turned down. I had to use the little key to turn off the alarm totally, the little box is under the hood, now every time i turn the alarm on again it starts signal really loud :) But even with the alarm turned off completely the car still does not start... I read that maybe i can reprogramm the key fobs, because of the battery change i did, but i can not do it because i have turned off the alarm and if i do turn it on, it starts to scream. i dont know what to do. I hope that i explained the situation to my best, but be sure to ask for elaborations. english is not my native language.. thank you
tommy.h
Hi Mishax with the alarm turned off the car is immobilized so will not start. if you reconnect the alarm(you will have to to reprogram the keys) it will reset itself(turn siren off) after about 3 minutes. that is when you need to sort your key out. take a look at attachments see if they are any help. tom p.s. sounds like you may have damaged the remote so you may have to replace fob. tommy.h
Hi Mishax yes you need to have the alarm connected while reprograming the key. as for disconnecting alarm immobilizer. i dont know how you would do this. as for key fob again i do not know perhaps someone will come on and advise you. i will have a look and let you know if i see one. tom

mishax16
Hi Mishax also try this site. http://www.mirez.co.uk/AlarmProbs.htm tom Yeah, thanks for the site, looks good. I tried going in to the programming mode just now, but it wont work, the alarm is screaming and nothing is happening, in some 1 minute or so intervals it becomes quiet for a while but then starts on again... Maybe i am doing something wrong, you said that i had to wait 3 minutes, but from wich point, i cant see that the car is in this programming mode because the led is flashing constantly and after the 10 seconds mentioned in the turorial i cant see a light flash or i can not distinguish it from the sirens led flashing? :( i really ddont know what to do
