dazza2811
Hi guys, new to the site but can anyone help me? My heater control has always only worked on number 3 the last couple of wks the heater/blower control was not working so checked and replaced fuse great working again, but now the fuse just keeps blowing i have been told it could be the heater resistor or the heater motor, i can get both parts from a scrap yard for £20 but as i am not a mechanic was wondering if it was a big job to change these parts? or would it be easier going to a garage? and letting them doing it any advice much appreciated Darren.... oldsparky
hi darren to replace the resistor is just as easy as to replace the blower motor. it basically clips onto the middle of the blower. the hardest part is to get to them both. i reckon if you allow 30 mins to do the job, you should be fine. in honesty, i'd blame the resistor. it's a common fault with fords. go to the breakers armed with a 10mm, 13mm spanner/ratchet & a couple of screwdrivers. strip the old one out (if you break anything, who cares!) then you'll know how hard it is. i take it you know where to find it???
