sxneil
Hi, i've recently bought some genuine bars off eBay, gone to fit them and found out there is a part missing! the bars sit on the roof, the bolt goes in the middle, but there is nothing there for them to screw into, anyone know if this is a specific part or if a nyloc nut will do? it looks like there should be a small plate underneath the bit the bars sit on for them to screw into. If some one has some i could buy off them that would be even better!! Cheers!!!
mintalkin
are they the bars that fit onto the roof under small plastic removable strips, if a roof bar has never been fitted before the holes for the fixing bolt in the roof will be covered by sealent, you just have to apply downward pressure while turning the bolt and it will grip the captive nut in the roof.after the first fitting the holes will remain for future use.
