  1. 1. Which Size Outlet On Back Box?

Recommended Posts

I have a 2.0 Mk1 Focus Zetec 1999, I currently have a stock exhaust and I'm looking to get a performance back box for the time being. I've been look at 2 types both from Sportex. I'm not sure wether I should get the exhaust with the 3" outlet or 4" Will I loose power through less pressure if I go bigger than my current 2"? Will 4" be too loud!? ANY BODY WHO'S DONE IT TO THERE FOCUS? OR ANY MECHANICS WHO FANCY A POP AT HELPING? Thanks

Ive got the 4" slash cut on the back of my 1.6 race tube cat-back system sounds lovley really distinctive note on it theres only one other focus ive heard like mine and thats my mates sodding brother who fitted the 3.5 inch tip on HIS 1.6 focus i wasn't impressed!

The 4" is a very close fit so make sure its centred correctly otherwise you'll have a crispy bumper. Make sure its not the cossie oval i wanted that one but it just wont fit.

Thats a pic with my 4" on i think the st220 had 2.5" on maybe 3" not sure but they wernt small

Nope but mines the full system not the backbox if anything because ive got a tube rather than a rear box ive got more power and more back pressure because now ive only got one silencer box in the middle of the car and the cat the rest is just tubing the 4" slash is just a tip mounted onto the tube. Mate fitted just a rear box onto his 1.8 was no different just noise so ur 2.0 should be fine.

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably try the 4" first. Probably won't make a difference as the through pipe is 2.5" on both
