Will A 6000 Rds Cd Stereo Work In A Fiesta That Previously Had A 7000 Rds Casette Player?

The 7000 RDS EON casette player in my 1996 fiesta has packed in.

Can it be replaced with a 6000 RDS cd player? Is it the same size? Will all the connections at the back be the same on the 2 units etc?
