catandsplat
Hi All, I've got a 92 xr3i which over the last few weeks has smelt of petrol inside. No apparent smell from engine bay and no petrol under car. I've now tracked it down to petrol dripping (obviously getting worse) from a canister on the engine bulkhead. There's 2 pipes entering the device, one each side, which come via curly pipes from the (assumed) petrol rail. Can't tell whether the canister is leaking or the pipe fitting. My manual doesn't mention this but I assume it's the fuel filter. If so, does this device leak occasionally or can it clog up causing the pressure to increase causing the leak. Any help appreciated as to changing this item and/or whether the connecting pipe (which looks like it's pushed on !) is faulty. Cheers, Chris
Steve
sounds like the pipes to me and would certainly get it looked at.
