latamise
Although first registered in November 2010, my Titanium was built in late May 2010 and "gate released" after the 21 June 2010 audio system update threshold. It consequently has the Ford system installed. Is it possible to retro fit the Sony system using existing connections/speakers? In other words, is a straight swap feasible? I would rather upgrade all the Speakers and buy one amp (plus a underseat sub), rather than pay a lot for the Sony HU. Just my opinion...could be worth looking into it ;) I am planning to do that in 1 month...
orcomma
on the FiOC two people have done so and gotten the dealer to fit it for free cos its such an expensive part! one said £279 other said £290 for the sony unit, which comes in two parts. mine came with one as standard so cant comment on price but the sound quality is excellent - especially with the pioneer speaker upgrade option
Stewie316
Now when your talking free did they buy the car when the Sony DAB was already out or did they purchase the car before the Sony DAB was out. I got mine around Feb 11 with 60 plate. If i had waited the extra week i could of got the 11 plate but was impatient.

Well, those prices are somehow lower compared to what I would have expected...they got the part from the Ford dealer right?
latamise
Thanks to all for feedback, but really need advice on whether connections are compatible.
orcomma
http://www.fiestaownersclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=6837&start=20 £290. Although I don't think this is a DAB unit. 4th July of this year (a few weeks ago) was the release date for the Sony DAB version. As for whether the DAB is a straight swap for a non-DAB unit, I'm not entirely sure. You may need a DAB aerial - I don't know.
Stewie316
I called my dealership this morning and asked about the new SONY DAB radio and they quoted me 338 pounds. When i asked if they would swap the old system for the new one as my fiesta is a couple of months old they said no. It was worth a try but the price is expensive.
