Gawain
Hope I'm posting in the right place. I had a few small questions (for now) about a Mondeo I've just purchased, hope you guys can help. 1, The CD (CD 6000) player is missing the eject button plate. That is, the eject button is still there and works, but the fascia is missing. Does anyone know if these can be replaced from anywhere? 2, the small compartment by the drivers side, which pulls open, doesn't completely close properly. Is this a simple thing to fix, or should I just live with it? 3, The car has done 76,000 miles, am I right in thinking this model has a chain instead of a belt? If so what is the change interval for a chain, would it be safest to change now or am I okay for a while? That's all for now, and I'm sure if these are the only problems I have in the near future, I'll have some happy motoring days ahead :) Thanks for any advice in advance. Mondeo TDCi
Hi I drive a 2004 LX TDCi 130 manual and my understanding is that the chain will last the life of the engine. Make sure you do regular oil & filter changes with good quality for both, keep levels correct and there should be no problem. My car has done 121000 miles, uses no oil between 6000 mile changes, runs beautifully. I'm considering an auto when I replace mine but I wonder about mpg and the higher road tax. Can you let me know your experiences? Andrew
