wazi093
My van is fitted with 1793cc endura DE diesel. It became difficult to start in the recent cold weather so I checked the glow plugs and they were all burnt out. Seemed a bit strange to me that there wasn't at least one working. checked my Haynes which said that once started the plugs should stay on for a length of time governed by the engine temperature, up to 40secs at -40 centigrade. From cold they stay on for at least 40secs and of course it's not -40. Have changed the relay and the coolant temperature sensor, still stay on for 40secs. Is haynes correct or do they always stay on for 40 secs from cold? (when engine is warm they cut off in only a few secs) Have I changed the correct sensor there is another at the front of the thermostat housing, I replaced the one on the right. I would be grateful for any help. Regards Steve
