Lowering Springs

I have been thinking on buying lowering springs for my fiesta mk6.5 tdci.

I just got told today that I would be better getting the shocks as well as if i dont replace them it may cause handling problems when driving and cornering. Is this true and has anyone ever experienced any problems just fitting lowering springs with the original stock shocks.

Any help would be apreciated =)

id say it depends on your driving. Was this a sales person telling you that? many people i know have used standards shocks when fitting springs without any problems.

Plenty threads on lowering, try the search button.

Majority use 30mm Eibachs with standard shocks and experience no problems.

You will get a better ride quality if you buy shocks as well. Handling shouldn't really be affected unless you thrash it all the time. I would say it is dependent on the amount of miles you have completed on your present shocks. The more mileage, the more I'd recommend getting shocks as well.

The search button on my friend - theres nothing fully answering the question I actually asked.

And thanks for the answers, the car I have is an ex driving instructors so theres many miles on the shock and with my luck I know I would be the exception if I just fitted the springs without new shocks.

Thanks again guys, amazing advice as always :)
