hi i am thinkin off gettin a old ford to restore but a bit lost on which one to buy any help would be greatfull

I suppose it depends on how much you want to spend. I always wanted a Mk 1 Lotus Cortina, but as these are rare and expensive I would probably go for a Capri 2.0S or 2.8i.
