Faulty Car Alarm

Help! My car alarm has been going off in the middle of the night unexpectedly the last few nights and then today it started 'beeping' every few seconds (or maybe it's the horn) while I'm driving the car. I had the battery tested and it's fine. Any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem?

Hi and welcome to the site.

With the damp weather there are a lot of cars suffering from electrical issues. Usually cars that spend most of their life outside.

The usual suspect for alarm problems is caused by a switch under the bonnet. I havent any experience of the Explorer, but if you have a look for a switch that will come into contact with the bonnet when it is closed. It is likely to have rusted contacts. Pull this apart and see if you can clean it up before refitting.

Hopefully that is the problem.

Good luck
