Disable Air Bags?

Hello guys!

Does anyone know howto disable the rear air bags in a 58 plate focus at all?

My reason for asking is because apparently you aren't allowed to have them enabled when you have a baby car seat in the back so the Mrs has asked me to find out how to disable them.

Cheers in advance.

Hi,

I wasn't aware there were rear air bags.

I'm sure someone will know for sure on the forum.

I know that a deactivator can be fitted for the front passenger bags though. (if not standard)

If fitted you would have a switch in the top left part of the glove box.

The deactivation switch for the front passenger bags is £30.71 and needs the system programming that it has one for it to be able to

work, also there is a warning light for the dash which is £42.85.

No idea how much ford charges for activation.

Wiring is all in place taped out of the way and just needs plugging in to the switch and light.

The only airbags in the rear are the side curtain airbags and no way to switch them off and they will not effect the fitting of child seats , this only comes into play if you decided you wanted to fit a child seat in the front where like Stoney has said you would need the switch and activating
