Ford Focus Idle Air Control

Hi, just following up with a question from a previous topic. I have just rung my local Ford Dealership to ask the cost of an Idle Air Control Valve, and was told that our car doesn't have one? It is an LX, Mark 2, 2006 Automatic. The throttle body is £330 plus VAT plus Labour (been having some starting issues). Does anyone know if this is correct that it won't have an IAC?? Could it be that the throttle plate is sticking then (if there is no valve)?

Thanks for your help.

If it's the throttle body that is sticking, surely you can normally strip and clean/de-coke these and refit ?

Thanks as always guys. This doesn't sound right. I thought maybe as is was an Automatic it was different, but not sure. I did a search and chat on eurocarparts.com but it came back with nothing. The person on the chat didn't know about it either. When I asked if it was something that was on other cars they said "not as a listed part". Is it a smaller part of the entire throttlebody then?

These look to have ones for a 2006 model.

Fords normally call these Air By-pass Valves. We call them Idle Control Valves. Maybe the guy didn't know what you meant when you called it Idle Air Control Valve.

I would have thought the automatic version should have the same one as a manual unless somebody else knows better.

This looks very similar to what I have looked at online. Thanks. I just have no idea where it is in relation to the throttle body ! I've had a under the bonnet at lunchtime with no obvious signs.

That's what I think. Everywhere online there is thousands of references to the IAC. Only 1 mechanic I've spoken to actually understands what I have meant, and unfortunately, he lives miles away :(
