ford=win
Hi guys Hoping for a bit of help, just went and helped get my girlfriend a KA yesterday and mechanically its all good but theres a few little things that need sorting that I'm struggling with. First thing is the fan controls, setting 1,2 and 3 don't work so you can only have it on at full power, is this a problem anyone else has had? and what caused it? I'm thinking the fan switch knocked but thats a guess. Also the cool air doesn't seem to work either? not sure what that could be Second this is a bit more style than anything else, the steering wheel has seen better days so i was wondering if any other ford steering wheel would fit on to a KA, if not can anyone point me in the direction of some good aftermarket ones? Thanks in advance for any help that you can give me, feel like a bit of plank atm Rob
btmaldon
There is a resistor that controls the fan. Not sure where it is on the KA. It may be attached to the fan unit, but should be an easy fix and quite cheap from Fords. The heating issue is probably the Heater Control Valve. This you should see under the bonnet where the heater hoses go into the bulkhead. Again, you are best to get one fro Fords as the after market ones have not proved to be reliable. Should be less than £40. Both of these are common problems. Good luck
